Driving Gloves in Dark Camel by J. Crew

> $75 retail, $30 sale
> J. Crew

These gloves are so cute--I got them because of they way they look, not because I actually need driving gloves. And if you're hoping to get protection from the cold, i'm not quite sure if these will cut it as they are unlined and the leather is thin. Unfortunately, the fingers are too long for me. But this is my fault, because I ordered the M (no S left). So...I guess these could run TTS. The store pic is a little misleading though. The dark camel looks like a medium to dark true brown. However, the actual color is more true to the name--"dark camel". It's actually very similar to my almond botkier color, but less red.

Circle Necklace in 14K Gold by Walmart

> $35 retail, $30 sale
> Walmart

This is obviously a knock-off of Adina's popular Signature Circle Necklaces, which I'm sure you're seeing at all the online stores (e.g. Shopbop, Shopping Allure, Go Clothing). I haven't seen the Adina IRL, so I can't compare the two, but they sure do look similar in the pics, with some minor inconsistencies. The chain of the Adina is much more intricate and the circle is probably solid (the Walmart SA told me their version is hollow). The Adina circle also has more texture. The Walmart one has uniform indents to mimic the hammering of the Adina. But from a distance, I believe it would be hard to spot these differences. And even up close, it's still a very good imitation. I believe the diameter of the circle (I measured this when I was still wearing it, so it was a bit tricky) is ~1.25" and the length of the necklace is 17". 14k gold, not gold-plated.

When I first saw the Adina, I have to admit, I thought they were kidding us. Who would spend that much on these barely there necklaces? Much to my surprise, people started scooping them up quickly, and the more I saw them, the more they grew on me. But I still wasn't spending $300-400 (or above) on one. Fortunately, because of its popularity, Walmart did its own version and I now get to experience the trend without hurting my bank account. At $30, it's practically free! Run and get this!

I'm wearing this in the picture below with the Marc top.

Cotton Tee by Marc by Marc Jacobs

> $88 retail, $45 sale
> Neiman Marcus

The NM pic makes this look a bit fancier than it really is, since it's basically a t-shirt with some style. On first glance, I thought the banding at the neck and sleeves were made of satin, but the whole thing is 100% cotton.

What I like: The color is different and the neckline is very flattering. It's very cute and versatile. I'll be wearing it with jeans or gauchos on casual days and it will transition nicely into my business-casual work wardrobe--I have it on with my FrostFrench pants, and I'll probably throw on a cardi over it to keep warm in my chilly office.

What I dislike: The neckline gaps at the sides, so you can see my bra straps if you're looking at me from an angle. It's a minor issue since I can just wear a bra with clear straps...but still--not perfect.

Sizing is TTS. I'm hoping it doesn't shrink, b/c I love the longer length.

Paige Bag in Navy by Goldenbleu

> $580 retail, $174 sale
> Shopbop

I saw this at the Calypso store in Boston and fell in love. Unfortunately, at around $600 (after tax), I had to wait. A little birdie (my sister) told my mom I had been keeping my eye on this, so she got this for me for Christmas when it went on sale. It actually was just further reduced, and the wonderful CS people at Shopbop did a price adjustment for us. The price is AMAZING for the quality! At first, I was hesitant about it b/c it was a steep price for a bag that I thought was quite trendy with all the studs. (This was when it was just 50% off.) But the longer I waited, the more I thought this would transition nicely. And then it went to 70% off and I couldn't send it back.

If you've never seen a Goldenbleu bag in person, let me assure you that the leather on all the bags I've seen are so incredibly soft and plushy. The quality really is top-notch. This particular bag has a nice blue suede lining. In my opinion, this is comparable to higher-end designer bags. The navy color goes well with just about everything and the gold studs make the otherwise boring hobo shape much more interesting.

Now all I need to do is get a purseket. (I'm used to all the organizational space my Botkier gives.) Will review when I get this.
